Madhubani: District administration has lodged an FIR against seven named people and several unknown persons after hundreds of women assembled at the Collectorate premises on Friday following alleged misinformation that land allotment papers would be distributed there.DM Anand Sharma took a serious note of the unauthorised gathering and ordered strict action against those accused of circulating false and misleading information that led to the crowding inside the Collectorate campus. The administration said the move was aimed at maintaining the dignity of the Collectorate, ensuring smooth official functioning and preserving law and order.According to officials, between 300 and 400 women gathered at the Collectorate on Sep 18 after being allegedly told that the DM would personally distribute residential land allotment papers (parchás) to landless families. During questioning by local officials, several women stated that they had travelled from different villages after receiving such information.An FIR has been registered at Nagar police station against seven named persons and other unidentified individuals. The accused have been identified as Chintu Kumar of Babubarhi, Mohan Kumar of Jhanjharpur, Mohammad Ejaz of Khutauna, Setu Kumar of Benipatti, Cheddu Safi of Basopatti, Mithilesh of Pandaul and Rakesh Kumar of Harlakhi.The administration clarified that under the Basera campaign, applications for residential or settlement parchás are accepted and processed at the circle (Anchal) offices concerned. Eligible beneficiaries receive the documents through the prescribed administrative process, and no such distribution programme was scheduled at the Collectorate.
