Ranchi: Police on Tuesday registered a case over the alleged assault and abduction of Saurav Paswan, son of Chatra MLA Janardhan Paswan, a day earlier.SP (city) Paras Rana said the FIR was lodged at Vidhan Sabha police station on the basis of Saurav’s complaint. It names four to five people and several unidentified accused, who have been booked under relevant sections of BNS.Saurav, a student of a private university, was allegedly attacked by a group of men after leaving the campus on Monday. The assailants reportedly forced him into a vehicle and drove away. He was later released near the state assembly and traced by police.The university’s disciplinary and student welfare committees met on Tuesday to review the circumstances surrounding the incident.Registrar Prabhakar Tripathy said the incident took place outside the campus. He added that the university would take preventive steps and urged students to immediately report any disruptive activity to the administration.
