Heavy rain lashes city, more in store for next 3 days

Ranchi: Heavy rain lashed the city on Tuesday evening, causing waterlogging in several areas and disrupting traffic. HB Road, Kokar and Lalpur were among the worst-affected stretches, where commuters faced delays.The Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a yellow alert for the next few days, forecasting heavy rain in different parts of the state. It also warned of thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds at isolated places.The Met office forecast a generally cloudy sky, with light to moderate rain or thundershowers at most places on Tuesday and Wednesday and at many places on Thursday and Friday.Heavy rain is likely at isolated places in north-eastern, north-western and south-eastern Jharkhand on Wednesday. West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan are among the districts likely to be affected.On Thursday, isolated heavy rain is forecast in north-western and central Jharkhand, including Hazaribag, Koderma, Ramgarh, Ranchi, Lohardaga, Gumla and Khunti.On Friday, heavy rain is expected at isolated places in north-western, southern and adjoining central Jharkhand. The affected districts include Simdega, West Singhbhum, Lohardaga, Gumla, Ranchi and Khunti.
