Ranchi: Apart from the state administration, the postal department also made elaborate arrangements for collection and transportation of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) answer sheets on Sunday. Late in the night, the answer sheets were also dispatched to NTA for evaluation, said officials on Monday.The NEET re-test was conducted amid comprehensive security arrangements at 67 centres across the state.In Ranchi, each centre superintendent visited the prescribed strong rooms in cavalcades carrying security personnel for collecting the question papers. After the examination, similar procedure was followed while transporting the answer sheets from all the 21 examination centres to the two Kendriya Vidyalayas designated as collection points.Sources further stated that the India Post’s special vehicles, guarded by security personnel, collected the answer sheets from the two centres later in the evening and sent them to their destination via a connecting flight.India Post also sent its vehicles in similar manner to the other districts for collection and transportation of the answer sheets. It is learnt that the entire operation was planned in a manner that there were no hold-ups in the movement of the answer papers to their destinations.The postal department held a series of meetings to chalk out plan for the NEET examinations.Contacted, senior superintendent of police Rakesh Ranjan said, “Police formed dedicated teams for various tasks related to the examinations. Apart from the district police, Jharkhand Armed Police and paramilitary force personnel also were deployed at the centres.”
