Ranchi: A 16-year-old girl from West Singhbhum, trafficked six years ago, was rescued in Delhi in a joint operation by Chaibasa police, Delhi Police and Mission Mukti Foundation.Lured to Delhi for domestic work, she was later sold in Mumbai for Rs 1 lakh and forced into marriage, in which she faced persistent abuse. Traffickers allegedly changed her age on her Aadhaar card to hide her minor status. A police station in West Singhbhum is registering a case of human trafficking, fraud and other charges, a statement issued by the govt said.Investigators have named Pratima Gupta, Hemant Gupta, Vishal Gupta, Manish Bharti and Meena Devi, linking them to an organised trafficking and document forgery racket across states, officials said.
