Patna: More than a month after the violent clash and vandalism outside his institute in Musallahpur Haat area, Patna civil court on Monday granted anticipatory bail to educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, along with giving relief to five of staff members. On June 5, police had registered an FIR against Khan Sir based on a complaint filed by a police officer.Principal District and Sessions Judge Rupesh Deo passed the order, giving temporary relief in the high-profile coaching institute dispute.The court also granted regular bail to guards deputed at Khan Sir’s institute, Pradeep Kumar and Talebar Singh, who had been arrested in connection with the alleged firing during the June 2 incident. The order came after the court had reserved its verdict on July 10 following the completion of arguments from both sides.During the hearing, the defence argued that the police investigation had been completed and the case diary had already been submitted, leaving no grounds to deny anticipatory bail. However, advocate Satyam Kumar Jha, appearing for another educator, Roshan Anand, opposed the plea, alleging that Khan had not disclosed his criminal antecedents. The court subsequently sought details of Khan’s criminal history before pronouncing its decision.Khan’s lawyer, Arvind Kumar Mouar, said: “Khan has been granted bail. Three of his staff members—Ankit Kumar Pandey, Ajit Kumar and Kanhaiya Kumar Singh—filed separate anticipatory bail applications, which have also been approved. The police conducted a thorough investigation. The truth of the case has been documented in the case diary. There were some arguments, and the opposing side objected, but the judge considered the case according to the law. Consequently, bail was granted.”The case stems from violence outside Khan Sir’s coaching institute on June 2, when the institute’s management accused educator Roshan Anand, founder of another academy, and several members of his staff of pelting stones and vandalising the coaching premises. Police later arrested Roshan in connection with the incident.On June 5, Kadamkuan police registered a separate FIR against Khan Sir based on a complaint filed by assistant sub-inspector Anil Kumar. Investigators alleged that two armed security guards associated with the coaching institute had fired shots during the clash. During the probe, the guards reportedly stated that they acted on Khan’s instructions while attempting to disperse the crowd. Based on these findings, police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act.Earlier, the court had granted protection from coercive action to Khan Sir while his anticipatory bail plea was under consideration.The dispute later took another turn when Roshan Anand secured bail from a Patna court on June 15, after his younger brother, Prince Yadav, who had also been named in the vandalism case, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a hotel room in Biratnagar, Nepal, on June 13 after reportedly crossing the border following the incident.
