Ranchi: Lieutenant General Vijay B Nair took over as the new Colonel of the Punjab Regiment from Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta at a ceremonial event at Punjab Regimental Centre (PRC) in Ramgarh, on Tuesday.Sengupta, who is GOC-in-C of the Army’s Central Command, formally handed over the ceremonial baton, symbolising honour, responsibility and regimental pride.During his tenure, Sengupta spearheaded key initiatives to strengthen the regiment’s operational and training capabilities, including raising the Bhairav Battalion and upgrading training infrastructure for Agniveer training.
