Magadh university gets AICTE nod for MCA course
Exciting news from Magadh University! Beginning with the 2026-27 academic year, they will introduce a brand-new Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program, having secured AICTE approval. This initiative will roll out at the picturesque Bodh Gaya campus, with 60 coveted seats available for eager students looking to expand their horizons in technology.

Gaya: Magadh University has received approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to run a master of computer applications (MCA) programme from the academic session 2026-27. The course will be offered at the Aryabhatta block on the Bodh Gaya campus with an intake capacity of 60 seats.Vice-chancellor Shashi Pratap Shahi said, “Introduction of MCA programme will open up better academic and professional opportunities for students, including improved placement prospects with reputed companies.”Director of computer science and information technology, Sanjay Kumar Tiwari, said, “The university administration had been working towards securing the approval for a long time. Classes for the new session will commence from the current academic year. Admission to the MCA course will be taken through an entrance test.”At present, colleges under Magadh University, including Gaya College, Gaya and Sachidanand Sinha College, Aurangabad, offer MCA courses with intake capacities of 54 and 60 seats respectively. Shashi and registrar Binod Kumar Manglam congratulated the department and described the recognition as a key achievement.
