Maiden ash users meet held in Ramgarh

Ramgarh: With an aim to promote productive utilisation of ash, Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL), a joint venture of NTPC Limited with Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL)—state discom, organised the first Ash User Meet for local users and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Patratu on Wednesday.PVUNL CEO Ashok Kumar Sehgal said, “We are committed for inclusive growth of local community through responsible ash utilisation. Fly ash can be transformed from waste into a productive resource and its use by local industries can create new opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods.”PVUNL has a target of achieving 100% ash utilisation through environmentally sustainable applications. “We appeal local industries, MSMEs, entrepreneurs and stakeholders to explore opportunities for developing ash-based products like bricks, tiles, blocks and cement,” Sehgal said, assuring ease of business for the eligible, which will create a win-win ecosystem supporting the environment and the local economy.Secretary of Jharkhand Small Industries Association Shivam Singh said, “Ash utilisation has huge potential for strengthening MSMEs. Local entrepreneurs must tap the growing demand for ash-based products.” More than 70 participants attended the meet, including women from JSLPS self help groups, block, tile and brick makers from nearby villages.
