Garhwa: Villagers blocked the Garhwa-Ranka Road, part of NH-343, for three hours on Sunday after Anup Gupta, 26, died in an accident near Khadiha bridge. Gupta, a resident of Pindra village, was returning home from Garhwa on a motorcycle when a speeding truck hit him. Protesters demanded the transfer of Ranka police station officer in-charge Ravi Keshri, alleging that the body was sent for postmortem examination without informing the family. Ranka SDO Mohammad Parvez, SDPO Rohit Kumar Singh and CO Sheopujan Tiwari reached the spot. The blockade ended after Singh assured action.
