Bhagalpur: The Malda Railway Division of Eastern Railway on Wednesday launched ‘Dawaa Dost’ medical stores and mobile food van stalls at railway stations to improve passenger amenities and provide greater convenience to passengers and visitors.‘Dawaa Dost’ stores were opened at Malda Town, Bhagalpur and Jamalpur stations. The stores will offer branded generic medicines, commonly used medicines and health and personal care products.The facility will also be introduced soon at Sultanganj, Pirpainti and Barharwa stations and other important stations under the division.Divisional railway manager, Malda, Manish Kumar Gupta, said the initiatives were aimed at improving passenger amenities and services at railway stations. The mobile food vans will provide fresh, hygienic and affordable food and snacks to passengers and visitors within station premises.Gupta said the ‘Dawaa Dost’ stores would remain open 24×7.Kartik Singh, senior divisional commercial manager, Malda, said the initiatives were part of the division’s efforts to improve station facilities and enhance passenger convenience.
