RANCHI: An MSc student was found dead at Hostel No. 9 of Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) in Ranch’s Mesra, police said on Saturday.The student, identified as Anjali, was found inside the hostel late on Friday night, following which a team from the BIT police station reached the institute and took custody of her body.Police said no suicide note was found at the spot. However, investigators recovered a diary containing entries suggesting that Anjali had been under stress over family-related issues.According to Ranchi Police, the issues may have contributed to her death. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.“No suicide note was recovered from the spot, though a diary was found. The entries in the diary suggest that the deceased was distressed due to family issues, which may have driven her to take her own life,” police said.A post-mortem examination is scheduled to be conducted on Saturday.Police said further details are expected after the examination and as the investigation progresses.
