Myntra plans to onboard 400+ Bengal sellers ahead of Durga Puja
Nationally, Myntra has 16,000 sellers and offers around 25,000 brands

Kolkata: Myntra is planning to onboard 400-plus more sellers from Bengal before Durga Puja. The lifestyle and fashion portal generally witnesses a 50% spike in sales during Pujas. Bedanta Dutta, senior director, marketplace of Myntra, said there was a lot of demand for products from the state from the rest of India. He was here last week for the second edition of a seller-focused event in Kolkata, ‘Seller Growth Connect’, as well as a dedicated onboarding session.Dutta said there were around 1,200 sellers from the state, with 600 from Kolkata. Total brands registered from the state on the platform is around 1,700 now. Largest grocers from Bengal include likes of Kisah (men’s occasion wear), Suta (handloom), along with Mohini Mohan Kanjilal, Bengal Saree Udyog, Adi Akshoy Co, Vagmi, Gouri Collections, etc. “Large chunk of brands from the eastern region is basically from Bengal,” he added. According to Dutta, the platform is accelerating digital market access for iconic heritage textile clusters, including Fulia, Shantipur, Dhaniakhali and Bishnupur, bringing traditional craft forms like Taant sarees, Bishnupuri silk and Dhakai Jamdani onto the national digital commerce map.Incidentally, nationally, Myntra has 16,000 sellers and offers around 25,000 brands. Most popular brands in different segments include H&M, Levi’s, USPA, Roadster, Nivea, Mango and L’Oréal, along with others. He added that currently, beauty and personal care brands did well, along with loungewear and accessories.
