Buxar: A new degree college will start functioning from July 1 at the KHK +2 High School campus in Raghunathpur under Brahmpur block in Buxar district.District magistrate (DM) Sahila inspected preparations for the college on Saturday. During her visit, she reviewed classrooms and other facilities, and directed officials to complete all pending work on time. She was accompanied by sub-divisional officer, Dumraon, Rakesh Kumar, district education officer (DEO) Sandip Ranjan and other officials.The DEO said five rooms on the ground floor of the school building have been earmarked for the college, and work to make them ready is being carried out on a priority basis.The DM instructed the DEO to ensure that all required work is completed by 12noon on June 30 through the designated agency so that the college can begin operations without delay. She also directed officials to provide basic facilities, including furniture, drinking water and electricity, from day one.To improve infrastructure, the DM ordered construction of additional toilets and a boundary wall around the school campus as per norms to ensure safety and proper management of the premises.The new degree college is expected to provide higher education opportunities to students from Raghunathpur and nearby rural areas, reducing the need to travel long distances for graduation.
