North Chotanagpur commissioner reviews revenue collection, orders action on pending cases

Hazaribag: North Chotanagpur divisional commissioner Vijay Kumar Gupta reviewed revenue collection with officials from Hazaribag, Koderma, Giridih, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Chatra and Ramgarh, directing revenue-earning departments to improve coordination, monitoring and timely disposal of pending matters to meet targets.He assessed forest, industries, excise, electricity, transport, registration, mining, commercial taxes, municipal corporations, cooperatives, agriculture, market committees, land conservation and legal recovery departments. Gupta asked officials to dispose of grievances and applications within stipulated timelines, review pending court cases and comply with judicial orders. He stressed implementation of the Right to Service Act, transparency, accountability and financial discipline.He directed the forest department to build check dams and ponds for year-round wildlife water and coordinate with local authorities to reduce human-elephant conflict. The electricity department was told to recover dues, act against major defaulters and replace faulty transformers within 24 to 48 hours. Mining officials were asked to curb illegal mining through inspections and drives, while commercial taxes officials were told to strengthen GST compliance.Gupta ordered municipal bodies to improve lighting, cleanliness and amenities, excise officials to intensify action against illicit liquor, transport officials to target school vehicles lacking documents, and agriculture officials to ensure quality seeds. He censured absent officials.
