Ranchi: Around 300 nurses and contractual health workers of National Health Mission (NHM) staged a protest on Wednesday across Ranchi over non-payment of their salaries for the past six months.Veena Kumari Singh, a contractual healthcare worker at Sadar Hospital, said the salary delay has affected NHM workers across Sadar Hospital and rural areas. “We have been providing relentless service, yet we have not received salaries for the past six months, creating a hand-to-mouth situation for us. Despite our repeated pleas, we have not yet received the payment. Even after working for 15 to 20 years, many of us earn only Rs 15,000 to Rs 22,000 a month,” she added.They staged a protest, raising the same demand on June 19.
