Patna police recover ganja, cash in anti-narcotics raid

Patna: Police recovered 2.068 kg of illegal ganja and seized Rs 3,31,200 in cash from a house in Chhutki Khagaul Chiktoli village under Khagaul police station area of Patna on Saturday.Acting on a tip-off that an individual was involved in the illegal trade of ganja from the premises, a raiding team was constituted on the directions of City Superintendent of Police (West) Bhanu Pratap Singh. The team was led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO-II), Danapur, Amarendra Kumar Jha, along with Khagaul police personnel.“During the raid, the accused attempted to flee on seeing the police but was apprehended. A search of the premises led to the recovery of 2.068 kg of ganja, two weighing scales, ₹3.31lakh in cash, three bundles of wrappers, and two mobile phones. All items were seized in the presence of witnesses,” the SDPO said.Jha added that the accused, identified as Imran alias Munna, was arrested during the raid. “He has been sent to judicial custody. A case has been registered at Khagaul police stationunder relevant sections of the NDPS Act and Section 132 of the BNS. Further investigation is underway to trace the source and network behind the illegal trade,” he said.
