Ranchi: A state-of-the-art IT park will come up in Ranchi by 2029, with the project expected to attract major technology investments and create up to 75,000 jobs.The proposal was discussed at a meeting between chief minister Hemant Soren and Deepak Chhabria, president of RMZ Infrastructure. Discussions focused on the proposed technology hub, a Global Capability Centre (GCC) and broader investments in the state’s technical and industrial sectors.The first phase of the project is expected to create around 20,000 jobs. Its capacity could rise to nearly 75,000 employment opportunities over the following three years.Authorities are considering an around 100-acre site near IIM Ranchi, the new assembly complex and Jharkhand high court complex. The IT park is expected to target global technology companies and offer modern office spaces supported by advanced digital infrastructure.The meeting also covered potential investments in information technology, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, manufacturing, nuclear energy and digital infrastructure.Under the GCC model, international companies could operate core functions in IT, AI, semiconductors and nuclear energy from Jharkhand. The initiative is expected to boost private investment and create high-skilled employment opportunities in the state.“The govt is working to build a robust and modern IT and technology ecosystem that integrates Jharkhand with future technologies and new industrial possibilities,” Hemant said.A state IT delegation will visit Bengaluru to study IT parks, GCCs and investment models.
