Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually address more than eight lakh youths at over 1,600 locations across the country, including 38 venues in Bihar, on Aug 27, state director of Mera Yuva Bharat, Patna, Kapil Dev Ram said on Monday.Addressing a press conference, Kapil said 16 venues in Bihar had been placed under Category-A and 22 under Category-B. At Category-A venues, youths will have an opportunity to interact with the Prime Minister through two-way connectivity, while participants at Category-B venues will watch and listen to his address and interaction, he said.Following the Prime Minister’s address, local-level ‘Yuva Samvad’ sessions will be organised to discuss sports infrastructure, the sports ecosystem, talent development with a focus on the 2036 Olympics, youth leadership and empowerment, he said.Kapil said suggestions from youths would be invited through QR codes. Participants would also be encouraged to take part in the VBYLD Quiz Round as part of the initiative.He said ‘Yuva Connect’ programmes would be organised at two colleges in every district across the country, providing youths an opportunity to interact with athletes, MPs, ministers, MLAs, councillors and other public representatives.Kapil said National Sports Day is observed on Aug 29 to commemorate the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand. This year, programmes linked to the occasion will begin on Aug 27 with the nationwide ‘Mera Yuva Bharat Khelo India Samvad’.“The objective is to bring youths and athletes onto a common platform to discuss issues related to sports and greater participation of young people,” he said.NSS regional director Vinay Kumar and Seema Kumari of the Central Bureau of Communication, Patna, also shared details of the programme’s objectives, activities and youth participation.
