Bokaro: Police on Monday carried out a district-wide security inspection of banks, ATMs, LIC offices and other financial institutions to check preparedness and identify safety gaps.The coordinated drive was conducted on the direction of SP Nathu Singh Meena. SDPOs, DSPs and officers in-charge of police stations inspected financial establishments in their respective areas.SP Meena said CCTV cameras, alarm systems, security guards and other arrangements were checked in detail. Branch and institution managers were asked to immediately fix minor shortcomings found during the inspection.Police also directed managers to prominently display contact numbers of the local police station, police control room, fire brigade and Dial 112 on the premises.“Security of financial institutions requires constant monitoring and coordination. Managers have been asked to address gaps immediately and ensure emergency contact numbers are clearly displayed for quick assistance,” Meena said.Financial institutions were also instructed to report any suspicious person or activity to the nearest police station without delay. Managers have been asked to preserve CCTV footage for at least 15 days to help police in investigations.The SP said police station in-charges have been directed to scan QR codes installed at these establishments during regular patrolling. They have also been asked to maintain close coordination with bank and financial institution managers and keep a continuous watch on security arrangements.
