Rajpal Yadav had recently travelled to Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh to attend his niece’s wedding following an interim bail, as the HC suspended the sentence until the next hearing, which is scheduled for March 18. Earlier, a video of him dancing at his niece’s mehendi ceremony went viral; now, a new clip shows Rajpal Yadav breaking down in tears at his niece’s vidai.
Rajpal Gets Emotional at Niece’s Vidai
The video, which was first shared by NDTV, shows Rajpal visibly emotional as he hugs his niece while saying goodbye. Earlier, a video of Rajpal dancing his heart out to the famous Salman Khan song Teri Chunnariya Dil Le Gayi also surfaced. In the video, Rajpal is seen wearing a beige-on-beige kurta paired with a lungi outfit. He was joined by many of his family members and his wife.
About the Cheque Bounce Case And Arrest
Back in 2010, Rajpal Yadav had borrowed ₹5 crore from Delhi-based Murli Projects Pvt Ltd to finance his directorial debut Ata Pata Laapata. The film did not perform at the box office, and the loan remained unpaid. Court records show that seven cheques issued later bounced.
In 2024, the court had directed the actor to show sincere measures to repay the dues, but in February 2026, the court ordered him to surrender, as there were multiple breaches of undertakings to repay the amount. Before surrendering, Rajpal spoke to Bollywood Hungama and made an emotional remark.
Speaking about failing to repay the amount even after years, Rajpal shared with Bollywood Hungama, “Sir, kya karoon? Mere paas paise nahin hain. Aur koi upaay nahin dikhta (Sir, what to do? I don’t have the money to pay back. Can’t see another way out).”
Sonu Sood Offers Help to Rajpal Yadav
Sonu Sood was the first to extend financial help to Rajpal Yadav. Taking to his Instagram Stories, he wrote, “Rajpal Yadav is a gifted actor who has given years of unforgettable work to our industry. Sometimes life turns unfair, not because of talent, but because timing can be brutal. He will be part of my film, and I believe this is the moment for all of us, producers, directors, colleagues, to stand together. A small signing amount, adjustable against future work, is not charity; it’s dignity. When one of our own is going through a tough phase, the industry must remind him he’s not alone. This is how we show we are more than just an industry.”
