Ranchi: Police recovered the body of a youth, identified as Upendra Kumar Mishra, from an abandoned plot in front of Oghar Baba Ashram under Kotwali police station limits on Wednesday.Police said the body had several injury marks, raising suspicion that the youth may have been murdered. The circumstances surrounding his death are being investigated, officials said.According to his family members, Upendra had left his home on Tuesday night but did not return. The family searched for him but yielded no result.Kotwali ASP Nikhil Rai said the body had multiple injury marks and police were investigating the case from all possible angles.“Police have initiated an investigation into the matter considering all possible angles. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination,” Rai said.Police said the exact cause of death would be established after the post-mortem report. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the sequence of events leading to the youth’s death.A family member of the deceased told the media that they got to know about his death after the body’s photo circulated on social media platforms. “I saw a his photo on Instagram and reached the spot to identify the body,” a family member said.
