Dumka: RPF will deploy AI-enabled CCTV cameras at Jasidih railway station, a key transit point for pilgrims heading to Baba Baidyanath Dham Temple in Deoghar, as part of this year’s Shravani Mela security plan.IG of RPF, A N Singh, inspected security arrangements and passenger amenities at the station on Friday. He said the AI-based facial recognition system would help identify known offenders and strengthen preventive security for lakhs of devotees expected during the month-long pilgrimage.“Photographs of identified criminals have been uploaded into the AI-enabled surveillance system. If any such person enters the station premises, the control room will receive an automatic alert, enabling security personnel to take timely action,” Singh said.Singh reviewed infrastructure works, security deployment, entry and exit gates, CCTV surveillance, control room, crowd management plans, and passenger assistance systems. Officials were directed to complete all preparations before the fair begins and keep safety, convenience and smooth movement of devotees as the top priority.“The focus is on providing a safe, secure and hassle-free journey to every pilgrim visiting Babadham during the Shravani Mela,” Singh said.He announced RPF escorts on all Shravani Mela special trains.
