Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Thursday distributed appointment letters to 2,027 candidates selected through the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) Combined Competitive Examination and urged them to serve people fearlessly and without succumbing to pressure.Congratulating the newly appointed officers, he said the simultaneous distribution of such a large number of appointment letters was a record in the state.Shraddha Pandey of Uttar Pradesh’s Pratapgarh district topped the 70th BPSC examination, while Shashank Gaurav and Ayush Vijoy jointly secured second place.Highlighting the govt’s focus on employment generation, Samrat said the NDA’s 2025 manifesto promised one crore jobs and employment opportunities by 2030, and the target would be achieved. He said nearly 8.5 lakh jobs and employment opportunities had been created in the past eight to nine months, including over two lakh govt jobs.He said the NDA fulfilled its earlier promise by providing 12 lakh govt jobs and creating over 50 lakh employment opportunities between 2020 and 2025, surpassing its target of 10lakh jobs and 10lakh employment opportunities.“The mission is to work continuously for Bihar’s progress through public service. The more honestly, dedicatedly and sensitively officers perform their duties, the faster the state will progress,” he said, adding that collective efforts were essential to build a developed India and a prosperous Bihar.Addressing the aspirations of Gen-G, the CM said youth would play a crucial role in Bihar’s development, and the newly appointed officers would be key contributors to that journey.Samrat said Bihar’s budget had increased from Rs 60,000 crore to Rs 3.47 lakh crore. “Adopting the PPP model across sectors will give fresh momentum to the state’s development,” he said.He said industrialisation remained a priority, with focus on sectors such as steel, semiconductors, nuclear energy and food processing. Investments in these sectors, he said, would generate large-scale employment and strengthen the state’s economy.Referring to infrastructure development, Samrat said improved road connectivity had reduced travel time between Patna and Bodh Gaya to about one-and-a-half hours.The CM also announced plans to develop satellite townships at 12 locations across the state. “A township will be developed on around 81,000 acres in Patna, which is expected to attract investments worth up to Rs 10 lakh crore,” he said.He also highlighted the ongoing Sahyog Shivirs, aimed at ensuring time-bound resolution of public grievances within 30 days. “Anyone entering govt service should prioritise public welfare, earn people’s trust and work continuously for Bihar’s progress,” he said.Deputy CM Bijendra Prasad Yadav recalled Bihar’s situation before 2005, saying govt jobs were then difficult to obtain. “Employment opportunities expanded after Nitish Kumar’s govt came to power. With the govt now being led by Samrat Choudhary, even more people will get jobs,” he said.
