Set up 11-member panel led by AG to run Jagannathpur Temple: HC

Ranchi: The Jharkhand high court on Wednesday ordered the state govt to set up a 11-member committee led by advocate general (AG) Rohitashya Roy to manage the affairs of the Jagannathpur Temple in the capital.The court of Justice Ananda Sen was hearing a petition filed by the Jharkhand State Religious Trust Board, which has brought to light several anomalies in the running of the temple by the present managing committee. The court had earlier urged the Board to formulate a scheme for proper administration of the temple.Justice Sen observed that the advocate general be made the chairman of a committee, which will analyse and study the scheme presented by the Board for proper management of the temple.The court had earlier ordered the govt to ensure proper deployment of force for organizing the Rath Mela, which had commenced from July 16. The govt counsel informed the court that adequate force was deployed in the temple and mela premises and there has been no untoward incidents during the period of the mela.The case would next be heard after a fortnight.
