Patna: Tourists visiting Bodh Gaya will soon be able to see life-size replicas of the Seven Wonders of the World at a 40-acre theme park in Silonja, with 84% of the project already complete and the facility expected to open by the end of the year.The park is a joint initiative of the state’s tourism department and the environment, forest and climate change department. The Gaya forest division is executing the project under regular technical supervision to ensure high-quality standards.The monuments being recreated are the Taj Mahal (India), Great Pyramid of Giza (Egypt), Moai statues of Easter Island (Chile), Christ the Redeemer (Brazil), Colosseum (Italy), Petra (Jordan) and the Great Wall of China.Tourism department spokesperson Ravishankar Upadhyay said every replica is being developed with a strong focus on authenticity, including material quality, carving and finishing. He added that the project is being conceived not only as a monument park but also as a model eco-tourism destination with facilities for domestic and international visitors.The park will feature a green corridor, extensive landscaping, dedicated walking pathways around each monument, and modern LED and façade lighting to enhance its appearance after dark.Visitor amenities will include drinking water facilities, clean toilets, seating areas, rest houses and a children’s play zone. The entire campus will be covered by 24×7 CCTV surveillance and security arrangements.Officials expect the project to boost tourism in Bodh Gaya, which already attracts lakhs of Buddhist pilgrims and foreign visitors every year. The new attraction is expected to increase tourists’ average stay in the city and generate employment opportunities in guiding, handicrafts, photography and transport.The project is also likely to benefit the local hospitality sector, including hotels and restaurants. Officials said the remaining work is expected to be completed within the next three months, giving Bihar tourism a new global-themed attraction by year-end.
