Mumbai: Shiv Sena of the dissident MPs are in touch with Shiv Sena (UBT) because they are scared of public anger in their constituencies, and talks are currently underway with at least two of them, party MP Sanjay Raut claimed on Sunday.In a related development, Rajool Patil, daughter of ‘rebel’ MP Sanjay Dina Patil visited Matoshree and told Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray that she was still with the party. “I had come to Uddhavji to present my side. I told him I am with Shiv Sena (UBT),” Rajool said after her meeting.In her post on X, Rajool stated: “Over the past few days, significant developments have been taking place in Maharashtra’s politics. After meeting Shiv Sena (UBT) party chief Uddhavji Thackeray Saheb and Aadityaji Thackeray Saheb, I have clarified my political stance. Giving priority to the expectations and welfare of the citizens in my division who have placed their trust in me, during my tenure, I will remain committed through the Shiv Sena (UBT) to address the people’s issues and work for development initiatives.Raut stated that if the MPs think they have made a mistake, talks can be held with them. He further claimed that talks with two MPs are currently on. “Some MPs are still in touch. They are scared because of the anger in their constituency,” he said.Raut said all six ‘rebel’ MPs are technically still with Sena (UBT), and noted that there were no orders from Speaker Om Birla in this matter and even the Shinde-led Shiv Sena has made no official statement on the new joinees.Raut also hit out at Union home minister Amit Shah for his remark that “now no faction remains, and there is only one Shiv Sena, which is headed by Eknath Shinde”. He accused Shah of insulting Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray and Maharashtra and insisted that there’s only one Shiv Sena, headed by Uddhav Thackeray. “The more you insult Shiv Sena (UBT), people of the state will stand against you,” he said.
