New Delhi: Police have apprehended a youth and two minors who allegedly murdered a 17-year-old boy, stabbing him multiple times in central Delhi’s Anand Parbat, after they brushed past each other in a narrow lane Tuesday.The murdered boy’s brother said he was stabbed 16 times. Police said seven to eight stab wounds have been found on the teenager’s body. “My mother is in denial,” said 18-year-old Mayank Dhingra, the boy’s brother. “She keeps asking me, ‘where is my son? I hope he got a good bandage. When will he be discharged?’ How do I keep telling her he is no more?” he asked.The teenager, a resident of Anand Parbat, was found injured in Gali No. 16, Than Singh Road, Tuesday night. A constable and some people who were nearby rushed him to Jeevan Mala Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Police got a call around 8.30pm.The boy’s cousin Hrithik said the family was informed while the teenager was in hospital. “The doctor told us he had been stabbed multiple times. We were shocked. How could someone do this? He was just a teenager,” he said.An FIR under Section 103(1) of BNS, which provides for punishment for murder, was registered at Anand Parbat police station Tuesday. DCP (central) Rohit Rajbir Singh said CCTV footage, technical surveillance and local information helped the cops identify the attackers.Tushar (19), of Anand Parbat, was arrested, while two juveniles, aged 17 and 15, were apprehended from the area within seven hours of the murder. Police also found the knife they had allegedly used on the boy. Investigators have also not found any history of enmity between the boy and the trio.The three attackers told police that they were walking through Gali No. 16 and the boy was coming from the opposite direction. They accidentally collided while passing each other, following which an argument broke out. Police said the altercation escalated and they allegedly stabbed the teenager and fled.At the mortuary, as Mayank waited for his brother’s body, he recounted the moments before and after the family came to know about the murder. He said he was returning home Tuesday evening, while his mother was in a nearby lane at his aunt’s house.When she was first told about the attack, the boy’s mum “ran from one place to another.” Mayank said: “She finally found out that my brother was at a hospital. We rushed there. He had been stabbed 16 times. My brother had no enmity with anyone.”Mayank said his brother had stepped out of the house after their grandmother asked him to bring her some household goods. He never came back.
