Dumka: Three men were arrested with 4.49 grams of brown sugar in a raid carried out in Hansdiha police station limits of the district on Tuesday. The men, identified as Mumtaz Ansari, 27, Rizwan Ansari, 29, and Firoz Ansari, 26, were arrested near Pagwara Pahad by a team led by Jarmundi sub-divisional police officer Naval Kishore Singh. The accused are residents of Singhni village under Hansdiha police station.Police recovered 1.91 grams of brown sugar from Mumtaz, 1.34 grams from Rizwan and 1.24 grams from Firoz.“A case was registered under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act, and all were sent to judicial custody,” Singh said. Mumtaz has several criminal cases registered against him, he added.
