Major train diversions are set from May 13-27 as East Central Railway undertakes crucial infrastructure upgrades on the Ayodhya Cantt-Akbarpur-Jafarabad route. Patna: In view of upcoming infrastructure upgrades, the East Central Railway (ECR) has announced temporary diversion of at least three pairs of passenger trains operating under its jurisdiction. The changes will be in effect from May 13 to 27 due to yard remodelling and non-interlocking work on the Ayodhya Cantt-Akbarpur-Jafarabad rail section under Lucknow division of the Northern Railway (NR).ECR’s chief public relations officer (CPRO) Saraswati Chandra said the maintenance work is part of ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiency, safety and capacity increase on the busy route. During this period, train services passing through the affected section will be rerouted to avoid disruption, he said, adding Barauni-Gondia Express (15231/15232), Valsad-Muzaffarpur Express (19051/19052) and Raxaul-Anand Vihar Express (14017/14018) will be diverted via the Aunrihar Junction-Varanasi City-Varanasi Junction-Prayagraj-Manikpur route instead of their usual path.Railway authorities have advised passengers to check updated schedules and route information before commencing their journeys.
