Two youths injured in Bakhtiyarpur shooting
In a brazen act of violence, two individuals sustained injuries during a daylight shooting on the notorious Bakhtiyarpur-Harnaut road. Assailants on a motorcycle unleashed gunfire near a petrol station, severely wounding one man with multiple shots to his chest, while a passerby suffered a shoulder injury. Both victims were swiftly transported to a nearby hospital.

Patna: Two persons were injured in a brazen shooting incident that took place on Monday night on Bakhtiyarpur-Harnaut road under Bakhtiyarpur police station area in Patna district. Unidentified assailants on a motorcycle opened fire on them near a petrol pump in Madhopur village.The injured were identified as Saina Kumar, son of Sunil Kumar, a resident of Madhopur, and Prakash Kumar, son of Rudal Yadav, a resident of Birpur in Vaishali district.According to police, the attackers, who had their faces covered, arrived on a motorcycle and suddenly targeted Saina, firing multiple shots. Three bullets hit him in the chest. Prakash, who was present nearby, also sustained a bullet injury in the shoulder.After the attack, the criminals fled from the spot. Local residents admitted both the injured youths to the Community Health Centre in Bakhtiyarpur. Given the seriousness of their injuries, doctors provided first aid and referred them to the PMCH for advanced treatment.Upon receiving information about the incident, Bakhtiyarpur SHO Devanand Sharma reached the hospital along with a police team to gather details. Police have cordoned off the area and launched raids to identify and arrest the accused. CCTV footage from nearby cameras is also being scanned for vital clues.Kundan Kumar, Patna SP (Rural), said the FSL team was called to the spot to gather evidence, and three empty shells were recovered from the crime spot. “Police are investigating the case from all angles,” he added.
