MUMBAI: Valuables worth Rs 2.65 crore have been stolen from the Worli residence of legislative council deputy speaker Sachin Ahir of the Shiv Sena over the past five years, his son Krishna has said in a complaint to the police.The stolen items include a 100-gram gold biscuit, diamond-studded gold bangles, a diamond-studded gold band, five diamond necklaces, diamond rings, silver glasses, silver utensils, including jugs, plates and lotas, along with an unspecified amount of cash.Krishna claimed that after a fire caused by an alleged short circuit damaged the residence on October 13, 2025, the family initially believed that cash withdrawn for household expenses had been destroyed in the blaze. Later, reviewing the CCTV footage, they discovered that portions of the recordings were missing, raising suspicion.Krishna said his four domestic help systematically stole cash, gold jewellery and other valuables worth around Rs 2.65 crore in the past five years. The city crime branch has taken over the probe.Krishna said that though he has been residing at a flat in Khar for the past two years due to work commitments in the film industry, he frequently visited the family’s residence at Gulrukh Building, Worli seaface, where his parents and sister continue to live.
