Madurai: VO Chidambaranar Port has berthed its longest container ship, the 335.23-metre MV CMA CGM THORIUM, at Tuticorin International Container Terminal (TICT), surpassing the 304-metre record set by MV MSC Michaela in December 2025.The vessel, with a beam of 51 metres, arrived with a draft of 13.5 metres from Santos, Brazil, and will next proceed to Singapore.During its call, the vessel is scheduled to handle 3,276 TEUs, comprising 1,324 TEUs of import cargo and 1,952 TEUs of restow cargo.The new record follows marine infrastructure and navigational improvements at the port.
