NEW DELHI: Heavy to very heavy rain is likely in several parts of the country on Tuesday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warning of very heavy rainfall in Chhattisgarh, east Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Uttarakhand.Isolated extremely heavy rain is also likely over Odisha and Chhattisgarh, while several states may see thunderstorms and lightning.

The IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Chhattisgarh, east Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Uttarakhand.Heavy rain is also likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Jharkhand, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Sikkim and west Madhya Pradesh.
Delhi-NCR weather tomorrow
Delhi, Haryana and Chandigarh are likely to see heavy rain at isolated places, with thunderstorms and lightning also possible in parts of the region.
Extremely heavy rain likely in Odisha, Chhattisgarh
Odisha and Chhattisgarh are likely to see isolated extremely heavy rainfall on Tuesday. Odisha may also see thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds.Heavy rain is also expected in parts of Jharkhand and Bihar.
North India weather tomorrow
Uttarakhand is likely to receive very heavy rain at isolated places on Tuesday, while heavy rain is possible in Himachal Pradesh and parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad.Uttar Pradesh is also likely to see heavy rain, with thunderstorms and lightning possible in parts of the state.
Central India forecast
Very heavy rain is likely over east Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. West Madhya Pradesh may also receive heavy rain.Thunderstorms and lightning are likely over parts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
East and northeast India
Heavy rain is likely over Bihar, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam , Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim.Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya may see very heavy rain in isolated areas, while Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are also likely to receive heavy rain.Several parts of the Northeast may also see thunderstorms and lightning.
West India forecast
The IMD has forecast scattered rainfall over Gujarat, Marathwada, Saurashtra and Kutch. More widespread rain is likely over Konkan and Goa.
South India rain forecast
Rain is likely over parts of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Telangana.Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep are likely to continue receiving widespread rainfall.Thunderstorms and gusty winds are also possible over parts of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Karnataka.
IMD’s latest forecast for the next few days
Rainfall is expected to remain active across several parts of the country over the next few days.Heavy rain is likely to continue over parts of the north, central, eastern and northeastern regions, while the west coast and parts of south India are also expected to remain wet.
