Kolkata: Reliance Jio has emerged as the dominant telecom operator in Bengal in both subscriber base and revenue market share, according to Feb data published by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.Jio’s subscriber base in the Bengal Circle stands at 2,58,52,760 after adding 1,66,057 new subscribers in Feb, giving it a 44.8% customer market share — more than 70 lakh subscribers ahead of the second-placed operator, which holds a 32.6% share.The company attributes its growth in the state to its 5G network, which it says covers both urban and rural areas. Nationally, Jio added over 16 lakh new wireless subscribers, over one lakh new wired JioFiber subscribers and over three lakh new JioAirFiber fixed wireless access subscribers in Feb.
