Woman killed by husband in Nalanda
In a harrowing turn of events in Beldariya village, Nalanda, the life of 31-year-old Sonamanti Devi was tragically cut short by her husband, Lalu Chauhan. What began as a disagreement regarding her attendance at a neighbor’s puja spiraled into a fatal confrontation. Authorities have since apprehended Lalu and are delving deeper into the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident.

Biharsharif: A 31-year-old woman was bludgeoned to death by her husband following an altercation over a minor issue at Beldariya village under the Ben police station area in Nalanda district on Sunday night. The deceased was identified as Sonamanti Devi, wife of Lalu Chauhan.According to police, Lalu was upset over his wife performing puja at a neighbour’s house. An argument ensued, during which he allegedly smashed her head against a hard object, killing her on the spot.On receiving information, police rushed to the spot, collected evidence with the assistance of a forensic science laboratory (FSL) team, and sent the body to Bihar Sharif Sadar Hospital for postmortem.Ben SHO Raviraj Singh said a case has been registered under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. “The accused has been arrested and further investigation is underway,” he added.
