Patna: A 22-year-old youth was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a house under construction in Sadisopur village under Bihta police station area of Patna district on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Chand, son of Mohammad Pappu Ansari, a resident of Gonwa village.According to family members, Chand had left his home on his motorcycle on Saturday evening after being called by some friends. When he failed to return late at night, his relatives began searching for him. However, his mobile phone remained switched off, and there was no trace of him.On Sunday morning, the family was informed by the police that Chand’s body had been found inside a house under construction in Sadisopur. Upon reaching the spot, relatives found his body with severe head injuries. His motorcycle was missing from the spot, while only his switched-off mobile phone was recovered.Chand’s father alleged that his son was called by his friends and subsequently murdered. He demanded a thorough investigation and strict action against those responsible.Police sent the body to a govt hospital for postmortem examination. A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) was also called to collect evidence from the crime scene.Bihta SHO Amit Kumar said villagers had alerted the police about the body, and the victim’s family was called for identification. He added that the Patna FSL team had been informed and that a detailed investigation would be conducted after the forensic examination of the site.The SHO added: “The body bore a head injury. Prima facie, no bloodstains were found at the crime spot. It is suspected that the accused dumped the body there after the murder. The police are checking CCTV footage from nearby areas. Statements from the victim’s family are yet to be recorded.”
