Hazaribag: A 16-year-old girl was found dead in the Tetartand forest area of Chatra district on Tuesday. The body was spotted by a woman grazing cattle, who alerted villagers and police.Quoting family members of the deceased, officer in-charge Amit Kumar said the girl had gone to Kunda weekly market on Monday. She later left home with a friend, saying she was going to watch Teej Puja. Her family launched a search when she did not return till late evening.Preliminary investigation reveals that the girl was assaulted before being strangled with her dupatta. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, police added.
