New Delhi: Two men have been arrested for allegedly robbing a 52-year-old man of Rs 44 lakh in northeast Delhi, police said.The complainant, Jitendra Kumar, told police that he had collected the cash from Avdhesh Tiwari, a scrap dealer, at MS Park in Shahdara and was carrying it on his motorcycle to deliver it to another person when he was intercepted by two men.According to police, one of the men intercepted Kumar while the other approached him and allegedly snatched a bag containing Rs 44 lakh. The two then fled with the cash.A video purportedly capturing the incident surfaced on social media. The footage shows two men snatching Kumar’s bag, with one of them appearing to be carrying a pistol. The duo then flees the spot with the bag. Despite several vehicles and passersby being present on the road, no one appears to intervene. After the robbers leave, a few people gather around Kumar and come to his aid.Police have registered a robbery case and launched an investigation.During the investigation, police found that Avdhesh Tiwari’s son, Prabhay, had allegedly planned the robbery to repay a debt.Police arrested Prabhay (26), a resident of Shahdara, and Sarab Tiwari (21), a resident of Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh. According to investigators, Prabhay allegedly knew about the cash and conspired with his associate to execute the robbery.Police are also questioning Avdhesh in connection with the case.
