Patna: Three suspected live bombs were found inside a cemetery at Suroul village under Khanpur police station area of Samastipur district on Wednesday morning, triggering panic among residents and prompting police to cordon off the area.According to locals, the objects were kept inside a black plastic bag and appeared like coconuts from a distance. A villager spotted the bag and alerted panchayat representatives, who then informed Khanpur police. A police team rushed to the spot, secured the area and prevented people from approaching the suspected explosives.Khanpur SHO-cum-additional SHO Poonam Kumari said police found three suspected live bombs at the site after receiving information from local residents. “The FSL team has been informed to ascertain the nature of the objects and determine whether they are live explosives. Further examination is awaited. We have asked residents to stay away from the area,” she said.Police said they were probing how the suspected bombs reached the cemetery and who placed them there. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the FSL examination and the ongoing investigation, police said.
