Ramgarh: Police seized and destroyed nearly 4.5 quintals of java mahua in raids at Bhurkunda and West Bokaro police outpost (OP) in the district on Monday. Java mahua is a fermented wash of Mahua used for brewing country liquor.Ramgarh SP Mukesh Kumar Lunayat said teams from Mandu police station, West Bokaro OP and Bhurkunda OP carried out coordinated raids at several illegal liquor manufacturing units operating in forested and riverbank areas of the district. “Aroun 4.5 quintals of java mahua were destroyed and illegal liquor production facilities were dismantled,” he said.The raids were conducted as part of an ongoing special drive against the illegal liquor trade.
