PATNA: Nine impostors were caught appearing in the NEET-UG re-examination for genuine candidates at three centres in Lakhisarai on Sunday.Officials said seven impostors were detected at Kendriya Vidyalaya, while one each was caught at Hasanpur and KRK High School. The fraud came to light after discrepancies in photographs and fingerprints were noticed during document verification.Following the incident, the district administration detained seven employees of the private agency responsible for biometric attendance. They are being questioned over possible lapses in the verification process.Preliminary investigations indicated that some impostors may have been allowed entry without completing biometric verification, raising questions about the agency’s role.Lakhisarai DM Shailendra Kumar, SP Prerna Kumar, sub-divisional officer Prabhakar Kumar and sub-divisional police officer Shivam Kumar visited the centres after the fraud was detected.“It is suspected that some of the arrested solvers could be professional doctors or medical students,” Shivam said.
