Patna: AICC incharge for Bihar Krishna Allavaru on Thursday asked Congress functionaries to strengthen the party down to the panchayat and ward levels as part of its upcoming mass outreach campaign, ‘Har Ghar Congress Ka Jhanda’.Over the past two days, Allavaru, along with Bihar Congress president Rajesh Ram, reviewed the work of state-level specific special functionaries (SSFs) and district presidents at Sadaquat Ashram in Patna. The SSFs were appointed under the party’s Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan.Addressing district presidents, Allavaru said strengthening SSFs, district presidents and block presidents was essential to building a stronger organisation. He urged them to carry out party activities “with courage on an extensive scale”.He asked the SSFs to lead the ‘Har Ghar Congress Ka Jhanda’ campaign in coordination with district and block presidents and other office-bearers, taking the programme to every panchayat and ward under the slogan, ‘Chalo Panchayat, Chalo Ward’.The functionaries were also directed to hold small-group meetings in their districts and assigned areas to discuss local, state and national issues.Rajesh asked district presidents to convene monthly meetings with block presidents. He said a two-day training programme for block presidents from eight nearby districts would be held in Bhagalpur on Aug 7 and 8.Allavaru said the appointment of block presidents under the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan was nearing completion and the process of appointing mandal-level presidents would begin soon.
