Bokaro: In June this year, cyber criminals siphoned off Rs 7.65 lakh from the bank accounts of 82-year-old Narendra Kumar Sinha in an online scam. A resident of Gujarat Colony in Bokaro, Sinha registered a complaint with the Cyber Police station on June 23.On Thursday, SP Nathu Singh Meena said police have recovered Rs 7 lakh. The fraudsters, Meena said, had transferred the stolen money for online shopping transactions. Based on Sinha’s complaint, police alerted the concerned banks, payment gateways and financial agencies, requesting them to place the suspicious transactions on hold.“The prompt coordination resulted in the transactions being frozen before they could be completed, leading to the successful recovery,” said SP.“I had almost lost hope of getting my money back. The prompt response of police gave me relief,” Sinha said.
