Hazaribag: Chatra MP Kali Charan Singh has urged the Centre to support the implementation of a modern, scientific drainage system under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0 in Chatra town.During a meeting with Union ministry of housing and urban affairs secretary Satendra Singh in New Delhi on Tuesday, the BJP MP raised several issues related to urban infrastructure and civic amenities in Chatra with special emphasis on drainage management.Singh said, “Chatra town’s growing population and rapid urban expansion has exposed the limitations of its existing drainage network. Several localities continue to face waterlogging during the monsoon. A scientific and future-ready drainage system is essential to meet the town’s long-term requirements.”He also requested the ministry to designate a competent official to coordinate with the Chatra Municipal Council and assist in preparing a detailed drainage proposal after assessing the present system. He urged that the proposal be submitted to the ministry at the earliest so that it could be considered for approval and funding under AMRUT 2.0.
