Madhubani: An artist registration camp was organised at Bhatsimar village under Rajnagar block of Madhubani district on Sunday. The camp was held in the village of noted Bihar folk artist and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award-2024 recipient Mahendra Ram.Artists associated with various folk art forms, including Rashanchauki and Sakhi-Bahinpa, were informed about the Bihar Artist Registration Portal and the Artist Pension Scheme.Officials explained the registration process, required documents, performance-related certificates, procedures for uploading photographs and videos, and the eligibility criteria and application process for the pension scheme.Artists were urged to register on the Bihar Artist Registration Portal to secure official recognition for their art and gain access to government-supported opportunities. Eligible artists were also encouraged to apply for benefits under the Artist Pension Scheme.The district art and culture office, Madhubani, said artists can obtain information related to registration and the pension scheme through its helpline number.Officials added that artist registration camps can also be organised in villages with a large concentration of artists. Interested artists or residents can contact the helpline to request such camps in their area.
