Ranchi: A special ACB court has rejected the bail petition filed by former circle officer Sachidanad Verma in a corruption case. ACB arrested Verma on July 10, alleging he demanded a bribe for mutation of land in Budmu area of Ranchi district. Verma argued he was not caught accepting the bribe. ACB opposed the plea, saying the former CO was involved in corruption through middlemen. The agency alleged the accused first rejected mutation applications and later approved transfer of ownership after receiving bribes from applicants. The court subsequently refused bail to Verma.
