Jamshedpur: City-based hotelier Nikhar Sablok, 35, was shot dead by unidentified assailants on the premises of a hotel along NH-33 in Seraikela-Kharsawan district on Monday.Sablok, a resident of Kadma, was leaving the hotel after a meeting and lunch with business associates when two to three armed men allegedly opened fire at him from close range before fleeing. His friends, who were waiting outside, rushed him to Tata Main Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.Chandil police reached the spot and launched an investigation. Nine empty cartridges were recovered from the scene. Chandil police station officer in-charge Santan Tiwary said the motive behind the killing was yet to be ascertained. Efforts were under way to identify and arrest the assailants.
