Ranchi: Jharkhand high court on Monday refused to stay the state govt’s notification to cancel the recruitment process for forest range officers (FROs).Justice Deepak Roshan was hearing a petition filed by Amit Kumar and several other candidates who had participated in the recruitment process. The court will hear the case again on Sept 24.Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) had advertised 170 FRO vacancies and conducted the main examination in Jan. A total of 743 candidates cleared the examination and were awaiting physical tests when the recruitment process was cancelled.On Aug 18, state govt issued a notification cancelling several examinations and recruitment processes conducted by JPSC and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) with immediate effect.The decision has prompted a series of petitions before the high court by affected candidates. On Aug 22, the high court stayed the notifications cancelling the appointments of child development project officers (CDPOs) and those recruited through the JSSC-CGL exam. The court on Aug 21 had stayed the notifications cancelling the 11th and 13th JPSC exams, besides putting a clamp on the order scrapping the appointments of food safety officers.
