Students tied rakhi to Educator Khan Sir on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan

PATNA: Patna-based educator Khan Sir celebrated Raksha Bandhan at SK Memorial Hall on Friday, with thousands of his students tying rakhis to his wrist.Videos from the celebration show Khan Sir holding a child, with his wrist covered in rakhis, smiling and appearing joyful as students gathered around him to celebrate the festival.Speaking to the media during the event, Khan Sir said a cancer hospital he had earlier promised to open is now ready and will be inaugurated within the next couple of months. He also announced the opening of an orphanage.“It is important to observe the traditions established by our ancestors during such festivals. I extend my best wishes to all my fellow countrymen on Raksha Bandhan. Last time I spoke about opening a cancer hospital and pledged to hand over the keys by this year’s Raksha Bandhan; the hospital is indeed ready. There were some disruptions—about two or three months’ worth—regarding the cancer hospital. Although we had the support of the courts and everyone else, there were reasons for a slight delay of a couple of months. However, that doesn’t mean we won’t start it; we will open the cancer hospital within the next couple of months… On this Raksha Bandhan, I made an announcement about the opening of an orphanage…”Khan Sir also stressed the importance of following traditions passed down by previous generations while extending his Raksha Bandhan wishes to the public.
